Our Story
SolarisKit was founded by Dr Faisal Ghani, a mechanical engineer from Sydney, Australia. Faisal has been working in solar heating for almost 20 years. Born in Dhaka Bangladesh, Faisal is passionate about increasing clean energy in the global south and decarbonising heat.
While Faisal was working for Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Faisal learnt that households in Kigali Rwanda were spending up to 70% of their income on energy, most of which was used for heating water. Frustrated by the unfulfilled potential of solar heating to meet global heating needs, Faisal decided to tackle this issue personally.
